Getting started
We realise joining a large firm can be a daunting
experience. So from day one, we’ll assign you an HR Adviser and a
dedicated Buddy to help you settle in. The induction process will
then give you the opportunity to meet a number of people from
across our business –and the resources to start a prosperous
future.
Your first day will see you taking part in an induction at your
local office. On this day, we’ll give you a laptop and introduce
you to the various members of your office. We’ll also cover basic
office protocols – how things work and what will be expected of
you.
After this, you’ll then meet around 200 other trainees from
all over the country at our National Trainee Induction. This
two-day residential event will usually be held off-site in one of
the UK's larger hotels.
Through a series of presentations and interactive sessions,
you’ll find out about our strategy, our business plans and what it
means to be a trainee at Grant Thornton. Networking sessions at the
event will also enable you to mix with your fellow trainees from
all over the UK.
Thereafter, you’ll find there are plenty of opportunities to
build up informal networks across the company. Whether you’re
mixing with fellow trainees at Bradenham Manor, our training
centre, or doing a fundraiser at your local office, you’ll be
socialising and getting to know your colleagues much better over
the coming year.
