I am a Restructuring Partner and National Head of Pensions for Advisory. I am a Chartered Accountant and an Insolvency Practitioner with over 25 years’ experience in corporate transactions and restructuring. I have led over 200 assignments following legislation governing the stronger funding of defined benefit pension schemes, advising on the impact for trustees, companies funding the schemes and their lenders.
My assignments I have been involved in include those where there have been changes in the sponsor covenant as the result of a transaction, clearance applications, employer covenant in SSF valuations, contingent asset solutions, covenant monitoring and restructuring involving scheme sponsors. Many of these assignments have included groups with overseas ownership including listed companies in France, Germany, the US, Malaysia, Japan and Australia. In 2005 I led the team from Grant Thornton that designed and implemented tPR's approach and intervention strategy to under-funded defined benefit pension schemes and their associated employers.
From 2011 through to 2014 I was the lead adviser to the Kodak Pension Plan in the global restructuring of the Eastman Kodak Company following its filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January 2012. At its peak I was running a worldwide team of over 450 multidisciplinary staff from over 30 countries worldwide to effect the global asset carve out of the Document Imaging and Personalised Imaging business divisions from the Eastman Kodak Company on behalf of the Kodak Pension Plan.
Outside of work, I am married with two children. I am particularly interested in films, food & wine and enjoy sport, particularly golf (playing) and rugby (watching).
