As a tax partner with more than 30 years’ experience, I work with a range of clients: large international and AIM-listed companies; smaller, entrepreneurial, privately owned businesses; and their owners. I have held a number of leadership roles in the firm including serving as a member of the Partnership Oversight Board for six years.
My main focus now is as tax partner of the Grant Thornton Norwich office, building up the practice in the region and advising clients on tax matters. I have a particular interest in corporate re-organisations and reconstructions, including demergers and MBOs. Recent projects have included restructuring businesses in order to maximise the benefits of reliefs from capital tax exemptions and reliefs.
In addition, I am a non-executive director of Norfolk Educational Services, helping to develop shared services for educational establishments, under the Transforming Education in Norfolk model.
I’m also a keen golfer and most weekends can be found on a course somewhere – probably looking for the ball!
