Expert Witness
The decision to retain a qualified expert witness
is an important one which will have a tremendous influence on
the outcome of a case. The wrong choice of expert can have serious
repercussions. An expert retained early can provide valuable
insight at every stage, whether a case is settled or not.
Our approach in these instances has led us to be involved in
many high profile cases and resides in three areas:
- Presentation and delivery - Our experts
understand that the successful outcome of a litigated matter is
largely dependent on a solid foundation of quality work and clear
and concise testimony.
- Cross discipline - experts are versed in all
the necessary disciplines: accounting, auditing, economics,
finance, statistics, valuation and taxes.
- Keeping it simple - we can effectively present
opinion on liability, causation and economic damages in reports,
demonstratives and expert testimony. We can do this in
a language that is both compelling and easy to understand at
deposition or trial.
As independent experts we are experienced in advising on both
civil and criminal matters involving corporates, the public sector
and individuals. We also regularly facilitate commercial outcomes
through our dispute resolution offering which includes alternative
dispute resolution (ADR) and international arbitration.
