Andrew Menzies (Partner)
Andrew works in our Financial Advisory Services
practice. He has expertise across all disciplines, with particular
emphasis on recovery plans for clearing banks. Andrew specialises
in the automotive supply chain and plays a key role in our pensions
team, providing advisory services to pension scheme trustees,
corporates and the Pensions Regulator.
Experience
Andrew joined Grant Thornton in 1997. Previously he spent four
years in the management team of a major accountancy firm and two
years as a non-executive director in a rapidly expanding hotel and
leisure group. With 27 years experience in recovery and
reorganisation, Andrew has worked on numerous assignments in the
mid corporate market, ranging from £10 to £200m turnover. Andrew
has been based in the Midlands since 1987 but has more recently
been dividing his time between the Birmingham and London
offices.
Andrew has particular expertise in manufacturing and engineering
businesses, specialising in the last seven years in the automotive
supply chain across the UK, Europe and the US.
Andrew's pensions work includes the provision of financial
advice to trustees of defined benefits schemes to assist an
assessment of the financial strength of the employer and to
negotiate improved security for the scheme. This has involved
advising on "clearance statements" and assessing the ability of the
principal employer to meet proposed contributions.
