John Golding (Partner)
John works in our Business Advisory and Assurance
Services team, specialising in the audit of the Government,
healthcare and education sectors.
Experience
John joined Grant Thornton in July 2007, following the merger
with RSM Robson Rhodes LLP, where he worked previously since 1979.
John leads the firm's Government audit practice in the southwest of
England, and Wales. He has over 10 years experience in the audit of
London, metropolitan, county, unitary and district councils, NHS
and independent healthcare organisations, the police and probation
services.
A former Associate Controller of the Audit Commission, John has
led and been a member of four corporate assessment teams, and was
at the Commission during the establishment of the best value regime
in England.
His clients in the education sector have included five higher
education institutions, including the University of Cambridge, and
nine further education colleges. He is also a governor of a leading
sixth form college.A chartered accountant, John's experience also
extends into financial services and a diverse portfolio of
companies and charities. John also chairs the LPD Appeals Panel of
the ICAEW, and outside work, is Chair of a small charity, which has
been providing aid to Romania for the last 17 years.
