George McCracken (Partner)
George works in our Large Corporate and Regulated
Industries Tax Group, specialising in advising clients on
cross-border tax issues and advising large corporates on UK
domestic tax issues.
Experience
George joined us at Grant Thornton in 2003. Previously he has
worked with Arthur Andersen and Deloitte, and has 30 years of
experience in advising large companies on complex tax issues.
George has been an international tax partner since 1989 and was
head of tax for Arthur Andersen's Scottish practice
With 30 years' experience in international tax, George has dealt
with many large companies, both UK and international, involved in a
variety of industries ranging from oil and gas and banks to retail
and manufacturing.
George's expertise covers:

- mergers, disposals and acquisitions both UK and
international
- leasing
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) from the University of
Glasgow
- Chartered Accountant
- Chartered Tax Adviser
