David Campbell has worked within Grant Thornton since joining as a trainee in 1979.

Experience

David Campbell is a member of Grant Thornton's National Leadership Board, a position he came into in November 2008. During David's 30 plus years in the profession, he has worked in a variety of roles and locations, including work based in South Africa in the mid 1980's. Up until 2007, David's role was significantly client facing, with a variety of listed, large privately held businesses and entrepreneurs that characterised his client portfolios. David has also taken progressively greater involvement in the management and leadership of Grant Thornton, including managing partner of the firms operations in Sheffield and Nottingham, before moving through significant service line management roles, culminating in his appointment to the firms Leadership Board in 2008. David's professional work experience has included:

Paul's expertise covers:

  • advising an FTSE 350 International Group in an audit and transaction capacity as it grew to around £3/4bn market capitalisation
  • integration of UK listed and South African listed mining groups
  • advising the board of a listed football club in its growth and development
  • audit partner of a national £200million training agency business
  • advising on internationalisation of £75million private manufacturer
  • advising on acquisition, growth and development of a £30million pan European manufacturer
David has held several senior management posts within Grant Thornton UK including
  • Managing Partner of regional offices
  • Managing Partner in entrepreneurial business service
  • Managing Partner in Business Advisory and Assurance Services
As a member of the firms leadership Board, David has responsibility for the firms business in the UK Regions, comprising revenues of £135million (2009) across a network of regional offices. In addition, David is a member of the Grant Thornton International Privately Held Business Task Force, and a member of the Grant Thornton International Privately Held Business Advisory Board.
